ACCADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Each student is required to be present in class for all lectures. It is allowed for a student to miss only one (1) block class of each subject for the whole semester. Any additional absences will be sanctioned if the student is unable to provide a notice of sickness or any other viable reason for missing classes. Otherwise any missed block class leads to a sanction, which is lowering the final grade for the particular course. More than three absences lead to the student’s dropping out of the class.

The term papers are due at the end of each semester – during the final exam week. With each week of delay the final grade of the paper will be lowered with one grade. A three week delay voids the term paper. The class assignments should be turned over to the instructor on the date assigned in the course syllabus. The students are required to follow the syllabus and the lecture plan provided in there and to read the assigned materials before the concrete lecture is given in class.

For those students who have serious reasons to miss a big part of the lectures of a given course, there is the option of an individualized plan of study. However, this plan of study should be approved by the Academic Dean and prepared by the instructor. It is not allowed for a student to take more than one course on an individualized plan of study within one semester.
