Q: How can I apply at the Bulgarian Theological College?
A: The process is not difficult. You just have to have a high school diploma, and to fill in the application forms. If you are going to apply for scholarship as well, you definitely need to have a recommendation from the regional Bishop overseeing your local church and 2 other recommendations from a pastor, mentor, or friend (not a relative).
Q: Are there any entrance exams?
A: Yes, there are two written exam – 1 on Bible knowledge and 1 on knowledge of Bulgarian language and grammar. There is also an interview with a committee of teachers and staff.
Q: What is the age limit for applying at BTC?
A: There is no age limit. Anyone can apply and study at the College. There are also no racial, ethnic or gender barriers – anyone who wants to know more about God and Christianity, and who has a heart to serve God can become a student.
Q: What if I am not a member of the Church of God? Can I still apply and be accepted?
A: Yes, you can apply and go through the exams and interview procedure, but you can not apply for scholarship. Scholarships are awarded only to members of the Church of God.
Q: What if I am not a dedicated believer and a member of any local church? Can I still study at BTC?
A: Yes, you can study, but you will have to follow all the regulations, rules and procedures as the rest of the students, as described in the Student Manual.
Q: What are the academic requirements?
A: There are concrete requirements for each course, but overall you will have to attend classes, do home assignments, take midterm and final exams and write term papers.
