James Sawyer
Jim has been teaching theology since 1984. For the past 18 years he has served as Professor of Theologcial Studies at Western Seminary, Northern California, and currently serves as Director of Sacred Saga Ministries, and Professor of Theological Studies at A. W. Tozer Theolgical Seminary.
His breadth of knowledge and ability to synthesize large amounts of information into accessible forms are clearly seen in his Zondervan titles, The Survivor's Guide to Theology and Taxonomic Charts of Theology and Biblical Studies. He is also the author of Charles Augustus Briggs and Tensions in Late Nineteenth Century American Theology, co-author with J. Ed Komoszewski and Daniel B. Wallace of Reinventing Jesus , and co-editor with Daniel B. Wallace of Who's Afraid of the Holy Spirit?
Jim has regularly taught the historical sections of Perspectives on the World Christian Movement for the past 10 years. He has also taught overseas in Bulgaria as well as at the Theological Seminary of the Caribbean in San Juan Puerto Rico.
He has a passion for missions, for making Christians around the world aware of their rich Spiritual and Theological heritage.
He and his wife Kay live in the San Francisco Bay area, near their four sons and three granddaughters.
